Looks like crap wind this season? Be back on the Goldie for some R&R after a massive 10 months in HK! I have only had 1 weeks off since I got here (HK March) so need a good break - will be home from 20th Dec to New Years... Hope to catch up and maybe even get on a trip to Pin with you guys!
I kited Taiwan in August for a week that place is seriously windy 6m-9m kite only around Taipei especially now during the NE monsoon season (Winter). I'm booked to head over for a week during Chinese New Year (early Feb) but this time will take my custom surfboard (Goran) back from OZ as good surf there in the Winter. Was riding a skimboard there in August as Summer wind lighter and local spot has nice low tide area (lagoon) good fun skating around on a skimboard!
Not sure if anyone has seen the deal on some old 2007 Naish Torches (shop on the Hood River via eBay) - picked up a 16m complete kit for $500 oz another $115 to ship to Goldie in time for my return. I need this size in HK as wind here is so ****! Almost never over 20knots and I'm getting frustrated on my 12m 135cm TT....
I have had around 6 kites this Summer here and only once was I really lit for about 90 mins and that was back in April....
BTW I have read on the forums how some guys have had problems with LE's popping on the torches 07-09 LE folding issues during launch and set down? Looks like I will need a 16m with the wind you guys have been getting last month or so! Any point bringing my 9m home? I think I can get away with a 16m and my 12m on 20m lines if it gets over 20knots...
Anyways big news is Yoko and I are engaged after living together for the last 3 years it's time to move on so wedding will be sometime next year in HK! Hope to see you guys soon and if I don't Merry Xmas to the kiters and pole dancers of the Goldie - wishing you good winds for the New Year!
Jeff and Yoko...
